Pricing & How Our Repair Process Works

At ProTek Appliance Repair, we believe in straightforward, transparent pricing. Unlike many service providers, we do not charge by the hour. Instead, we charge based on the work required, so you know exactly what to expect and don’t have to worry about the clock running while a technician is diagnosing or repairing your appliance.

Step 1: Service Call & Initial Assessment

We charge a dispatch fee of $80 + HST for a technician to attend your property and assess the appliance.

This fee covers travel time, scheduling, and the technician’s initial inspection of the appliance.

Step 2: Detailed Diagnosis & Repair Labour

If you decide to proceed with a detailed diagnosis and repair, the dispatch fee is waived, and a flat labour fee of $280 + HST applies instead.

This labour fee includes:

• Detailed troubleshooting and diagnosis
• Professional repair work where possible during the visit
• Technical expertise and service provided by our technician
• Time required to determine the cause of the failure and recommend a solution
• Repair and Installation work during the return visit, if required. 
• Disassembling the appliance and taking it to our in-house lab for further repair (no extra labour charges)

The labour fee is non-refundable and is due upon completion of the service visit.

Because we charge by the job rather than by the hour, customers can move forward with confidence knowing that labour costs will not increase simply because a repair takes longer than expected, even if multiple return visits are required (for the same issue).

Step 3: Parts Quotation (If Required)

Some repairs can be completed without replacement parts. However, if replacement parts are required, they will be quoted separately after the technician has completed the diagnosis.

The technician or office team will provide a detailed parts quotation for your review and approval before any parts are ordered.

There is no obligation to proceed with the parts purchase.

Step 4: Parts Deposit

Once the parts quotation has been approved, a 50% deposit for the cost of the parts is required before the order can be placed.

After the deposit is received:

• The required parts will be ordered
• The parts will be shipped to our warehouse
• Our team will monitor the order and provide updates as necessary
• A follow-up appointment will be scheduled once the parts have arrived

Step 5: Installation Appointment

When the required parts arrive, a technician will return to complete the repair and install the replacement components.

Upon successful completion of the installation, the remaining 50% balance for the parts becomes due.

No additional labour fee is charged for the return visit related to the approved repair and part installation.
