Effective Date: January 1, 2026
These Service Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all appliance repair, maintenance, diagnostic, installation, and related services provided by ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. (“ProTek”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By scheduling, authorizing, or accepting service from ProTek, you agree to these Terms.
By booking a service appointment, you authorize ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. to perform diagnostic and repair services on the appliance(s) identified during the service visit.
The individual authorizing service confirms that they are the property owner, tenant, authorized occupant, property manager, or otherwise authorized to approve repairs and incur related charges.
A diagnostic or service call fee may apply to all service visits.
This fee covers the technician’s travel, inspection, diagnosis, and assessment of the appliance and is payable regardless of whether repairs are completed.
Diagnostic fees are non-refundable but may be applied toward the repair cost where applicable and communicated by ProTek.
Following diagnosis, the technician may provide an estimate for repair.
No repair work beyond diagnosis will be performed without customer authorization.
All estimates are based on information available at the time of inspection. Additional defects or issues discovered during repair may result in revised estimates.
Repair completion may depend on the availability of replacement parts.
Estimated delivery dates provided for parts are approximate and subject to manufacturer, distributor, shipping, customs, and supply chain conditions beyond our control.
ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. is not liable for delays caused by part shortages, manufacturer backorders, discontinued products, shipping delays, or supplier issues.
If replacement parts become unavailable or obsolete, ProTek reserves the right to cancel the repair and close the service file.
Customers agree to:
If unsafe conditions exist, ProTek reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service.
Many appliances serviced by ProTek may be older, partially damaged, previously repaired, or affected by wear and tear.
While reasonable care is taken during service, ProTek cannot guarantee that disassembly, testing, diagnosis, or repair procedures will not reveal or worsen pre-existing defects.
ProTek shall not be responsible for failures caused by age, corrosion, rust, deterioration, prior repairs, manufacturer defects, or conditions unrelated to the repair being performed.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, labour performed by ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. is covered by a limited warranty of thirty (30) days from the date of service.
The labour warranty applies only to the specific repair performed and does not cover unrelated failures, additional defects, misuse, neglect, power surges, abuse, improper installation, environmental conditions, or subsequent component failures.
Warranty service must be scheduled through ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. before any third party performs work on the appliance.
Replacement parts may be covered by manufacturer warranties, supplier warranties, or warranties offered by ProTek.
Warranty coverage, duration, and conditions vary by part and manufacturer.
Warranty claims may require inspection, testing, manufacturer approval, or return of defective components.
Labour associated with warranty parts may not be covered unless specifically stated.
If additional service is requested for a different issue than the one originally diagnosed or repaired, a new diagnostic fee may apply.
ProTek reserves the right to determine whether a return visit qualifies as warranty service.
Customers must provide at least twenty-four (24) hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
For same-day appointments, a minimum of three (3) hours’ notice is required.
Appointments cancelled without sufficient notice, missed appointments, denied access, or appointments cancelled after technician dispatch may result in a cancellation charge or service call fee.
Additional details are available in our Cancellation Policy.
Payment for labour and service-related charges is due upon completion of the service visit.
If replacement parts are required, the full service and diagnostic charges are due at the time the repair is diagnosed and authorized. In addition, a deposit equal to fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the required parts must be paid before parts are ordered.
The remaining balance for the parts, along with any applicable taxes or additional authorized charges, is due upon completion of the repair and installation of the parts during the subsequent service visit.
Parts orders may be delayed or cancelled if the required deposit is not received. Special-order or non-returnable parts may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which will be communicated to the customer prior to ordering.
ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. reserves the right to retain ordered parts and suspend further work until all outstanding balances have been paid in full. Accepted payment methods may include debit card, interac e-transfer, electronic bank transfer (EFT/ACH), cash or major credit cards for pre-approved customers only.
Outstanding balances may be subject to collection efforts, administrative fees, legal costs, and interest permitted by applicable law.
ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. shall not be responsible for:
Customers are encouraged to protect food and temperature-sensitive items immediately when appliance failures occur.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProTek Appliance Repair Inc.’s total liability arising from any service shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Technicians may take photographs, videos, notes, measurements, and other documentation before, during, or after service for diagnostic, warranty, training, insurance, quality assurance, or record-keeping purposes.
Such documentation will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By requesting service, customers consent to receiving communications from ProTek Appliance Repair Inc., including:
These communications may be sent by telephone, email, text message (SMS), or other electronic means.
ProTek shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform services resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, labour disruptions, supply shortages, government actions, transportation interruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
ProTek Appliance Repair Inc. reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on our website and become effective upon posting.
